OptiFi AOM

AFL and Amphenol have teamed up to provide an integrated mux closure that delivers the value of two innovative products, Amphenol’s OptiFi™ DWDM RPHY Optical Mux and AFL’s Apex® X-2 splice closure. The OptiFi DWDM RPHY optical mux is factory installed in the Apex X-2 closure to simplify installation in the field. This integrated solution enables more rapid field deployment of the OSP mux for everyday use as well as disaster recovery scenarios.

The RPHY mux (12ch, 24ch or 48ch) tray is installed in the bottom position of the Apex tray tower. The mux tray articulates up/down in the same seamless manner as the splice trays. The mux fiber tubes are routed to pre-assigned splice trays. Fiber tube labels are applied to the side of the splice trays to clearly identify the RPHY channel locations. A reflective band is placed around the outside of the X-2 dome so that it can be easily identified.

AFL and Amphenol are proud to participate in the NTIA’s Self Certification Process by providing a list of equipment compliant for use in the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program. These products have been verified to comply with the Buy America Preference (BABA) requirements, or at a minimum, meet the guidance as specified in the BABA Waiver for the BEAD Program (Limited General Applicability Nonavailability Waiver of the Buy America Domestic Content Procurement Preference as Applied to Recipients of Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program).
